TIPS

Gatwick

Peg 3 the Crucian swim

Use garlic sausage on both float 14 hook and ledger 10 hook. Cast the ledger as close as you like to the island out front. Put the float underneath the tree on your left.
One thing to bare in mind is that like the real venue, the Crucians prefer the hours of darkness or first light - nightfloats!

Also make sure you have version 2 of Gatwick Lake.

July 11th 12:00 14ft Float Rod / 3lb line / 16's hook / Tiny yellow float
Sweetcorn - Maggot
Firstly scroll to the right of the peg
Set float depth at 3 1/2ft
Cast into or onto the edge of the right hand weed bed
Bites are numerous and sometimes finnicky
But you will catch plenty - mainly Roach to 11/2lb and the odd Bream and carp
Best results on sweetcorn - but good Perch on maggot

Roach

June 1st 13:00 20ft Fly rod / 4lb line / 16's Hook / 1/8 th Bomb
Breadcrust
Freelining or Ledgering using the 20ft Salmon Fly rod
There is a shelf on the far bank that runs the length of the canal
The near side up to the barge is deeper water
Cast to the far bank on the shelf - loose feed hook bait
The Bream and Tench seem a bit bigger and in more numbers on far side
If bites are slow - just inch the bait down the shelf - this usually gets a bite
Use rod tip as indicator - bites are good
Sweetcorn and Maggot will work but smaller fish

Greenhalgh lodge

Buttermilk Boilie - Garlic Sausage - Pineapple Boilie for the carp.
You need to cast to the Island or the shallow gravel bar the runs either side of the island.
Summer months best - Use digitherm and find temps of 17 - 18 - 19 degrees.
Early season can be good for tench on corn but you will have to wait for the bites.
hope this helps
