Early august. 5meter pole. Light setup 5lb line 3lb hook line / 18 hook

drift into the bank just below you. If the float goes off the picture you've
gone to far. The fish aren't big but with this method you can catch roach bream and those pesky gudgeon. |

notes |
Nine pegs in all offering various methods and species. The lower pegs are in the tidal reaches which plays a major factor to fish behaviour. The real venue fishes best over the Winter month's. All
methods of Float fishing work as do ledger tactics - but choosing the
correct time of year is important - This is a low temperature venue. |
St Micheals 1 |
Slow and shallow - a mixture of sand and silt on the river bed. Most species will be found. Not a peg for high temperatures - best around April / May or September. Try trotting a float through with maggot. On the right is a small bay where you should find the Bream |
St Micheals 2 |
Another shallow peg and this time you will find more Trout. Trotting works here and try Fly fishing down the long straight. Good Chub and Dace are present. |
St Micheals |
Pure
Fly fishing on these two pegs - A small weir with a fast shallow scree
in the run off. Rainbow & Brownies with Salmon will be found. |
St Micheals 5 |
A
mixture of course & game - both methods work well - Trotting a float
through will get those Chub & Roach - Fly fishing for Trout and big
ones can be found. |
St Micheals 6 |
Fish
this one at wrong time and it is hard. |
Fishery Fields 1 |
Pike country! - As with the real venue this peg holds good pike. All other species are here also. This is the first tidal peg - you will encounter flounder from time to time also. These small sea fish get stranded on the tides but seem to survive on the sandy river bed. Rolling a deadbait along the far reeds will get those Pike. |
Fishery Fields |
The
fish are bigger down here and both pegs are tidal. Ledgering works well
or trotting the faster water for Dace. |
